Speech Language Learning is a private practice with two speech pathologists on staff. Our professional staff members all hold Master’s degrees in Speech Language Pathology and are certified by the State of Texas and ASHA.

PAMELA M. BASS, M.A., C.C.C.

Pamela Bass has provided both pam evaluation and remediation services to individuals experiencing difficulty with speech language or learning difficulty for more than 40 years. She is now seeing her second generation of children. Working with both adults and children, she has served as a learning disability evaluator for The Nancy LeFevers Ambrose/Houston Branch of International Dyslexia Society scholarship program. Since 2003, she has been an adjunct instructor for the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, McGovern Medical School. Ms. Bass has provided both learning disability evaluations and follow up support for their medical students. She has presented at local, state and national professional meetings on learning issues related to attention deficit and selective mutism.

Ms. Bass’ client interactions are seasoned by her life experience as a mother and grandmother. Leisure time is spent gardening, hiking and traveling. When possible, the last two are combined in state and national parks. She participates in a monthly book club and enjoys classical music performances. When time is short, Jazzercise, word games, and attempts at learning another language work nicely.

DIANE BLACKWELDER, M.A., C.C.C.

Diane Blackwelder has over 20 years experience as a diane speech-language pathologist providing diagnostic evaluations and individualized remediation services in both the public and private educational settings for pre-school through college. Additionally, she provides classes in accent reduction along with language support, including public speaking and presentation support. Based on her experience as a classroom teacher and service provider, Diane has been requested to provide regular feedback to her school administrators on “How are we doing?” Clinical experience includes working with articulation and language/learning disorders and accent reeducation, along with foreign grammar issues, adult memory disorders and autism.

Other professional activities have included program management and delivery of services to The Gathering Place, an adult daycare program for memory-impaired adults, implementation of an adult-story-telling program designed for dementia patients and theater/acting, script writing, including set design and theater performances. She has 13 years experience of video/television production in physician and patient education, both in research and as field producer. Her outside-of-the-box-thinking husband enriches Diane’s life, along with her amazingly fun children, and adopting royally regal greyhounds and rescuing crazy cats.
